As a core division of Redwood Entertainment Company, RTC focuses on producing impactful, engaging performances that bring together local talent and guest artists from around the world. Our productions range from compelling plays and musicals to innovative new works that celebrate diversity and foster community connection.
At RTC, we are passionate about making the arts accessible to audiences throughout Sonoma County and Napa Valley. By collaborating with BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ artists and storytellers, we create inclusive spaces that reflect the richness of our community. Additionally, through our youth programs, we inspire the next generation of artists, providing opportunities that support creative exploration and growth.

History of Redwood Entertainment Company
Founded in Northern California, Redwood Theatre Company (RTC) has been dedicated to producing high-quality theatrical performances that enrich and connect our community.
RTC has collaborated with an outstanding blend of local talent and distinguished guest artists, bringing performers from across the country to join our stage. Each production creates an unforgettable experience, combining local culture with the artistry and expertise of professionals, all on a stage that reflects the heart of Sonoma County.
FOUNDER
About the Founder, Carmen Maria Mitchell
RTC was founded by Carmen Maria Mitchell—a singer-songwriter, actress, and professional figure skater. As a BIPOC, women-owned organization, RTC embodies Carmen’s values of diversity, equity, and inclusion, actively uplifting LGBTQIA+ artists and ensuring a welcoming space for all. Born and raised in Sonoma County, Carmen developed her artistic and community-centered vision early in life. She went on to study performing arts and social justice at the University of San Francisco, where she was inspired to establish a theatre company rooted in both artistic excellence and social impact.
Currently working as a bicoastal artist in New York City and California, Carmen continues her work as an artist and producer, building connections across the coasts and fostering an artistic community that spans both Northern California and NYC.

Discover our upcoming studio events, or collaborate with us to create custom theatrical experiences. RTC Studio's versatile studio space in Healdsburg CA, is available for a variety of events, performances, and gatherings. Located in the heart of wine country, the RTC Studio is ideal for community-driven and professional events.
